This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our TikTok Downloader service (“Service”, “we”, “us”).

Information We Collect

Automatically When You Use the Service

Links you submit: When you paste a link, we resolve it and register the resulting download URL for your session. Registered URLs live in server memory and expire 30 minutes after parsing. Video files themselves are never written to disk.
Request log: We keep a short-lived application log of the activity needed to run the service and prevent abuse: the link text you submitted, whether parsing succeeded and how many download URLs it produced, and whether each download attempt succeeded or was rejected. It contains no account information and is rotated automatically (5 MB × 3 files).
Session ID: We generate a random session identifier stored in your browser’s local storage and sent via the X-Session-Id header. It is not linked to any account and is used solely to authenticate your download requests.
Server logs: Standard web server access logs are kept for 7 days for troubleshooting. These include your IP address, request timestamp, and user agent string.

Cookies You Configure

TikTok/Douyin Cookies: Some content, especially on Douyin, is only served to logged-in users, and a Cookie is also what unlocks the highest available quality. A Cookie you configure is sent to our API with the specific request that needs it, used for that request only, and not written to disk or to the request log.

Information We Do NOT Collect

We do not create user accounts

We do not build a profile of you: the request log contains no account identifier and is not used for advertising or profiling
We do not sell or share any personal data with third parties
We do not use tracking pixels or fingerprinting scripts
Analytics: Google Analytics 4, which anonymises IP addresses by default, used only to measure aggregate traffic

We use the limited information we collect to:

Process your download requests (the core service)
Prevent abuse and enforce fair usage (session ID + URL registry)
Troubleshoot technical issues (temporary server logs)
Improve service reliability and performance

Data Security

All connections to the Service are encrypted with HTTPS
The Service runs on a single server that we operate; access is restricted to the operator account
Session identifiers are random strings generated in your browser and are not tied to your identity
We never ask for, receive, or store your TikTok or Douyin password

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights under GDPR:

Right to access: You may request information about any data we hold about you
Right to rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate personal data

Our essential cookie (the session ID stored in localStorage) is strictly necessary for the download functionality and does not require consent. The only non-essential cookie is set by Google Analytics (`_ga` and `_ga_<container>`), which we use to measure aggregate traffic. You can block it with your browser settings or an analytics opt-out extension.

If you configure your TikTok/Douyin Cookie, it is entirely under your control: we never read cookies from your browser automatically, and you can clear it at any time from the Cookie panel (which only removes it from your own browser storage).

Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes will be highlighted for 30 days.
